The Standard Course

Raising the Standards

The Standard Obedience Course is designed for those ready to go beyond foundational training. This program focuses on building greater reliability, reinforcing clear communication, and helping your dog truly understand each command. It serves as the starting point for developing more advanced obedience and long-term success.

Training isn't meant to drag on endlessly, and it shouldn't. That’s why our focus is not just on the dog but also on helping you become a confident, capable handler. Each lesson runs between 2–3 hours, giving us the time needed to work in-depth without rushing your learning or your dog’s development.

A Good Dog Deserves A Good Handler!

We don’t oversimplify or water things down. Your dog is already trying to decode a language they weren’t born understanding—so we believe in meeting them halfway. That starts with helping you become the handler they need. Clear guidance. Real results. Mutual respect.

Course Material

Handler Education

The Standard Course lays the foundation for long-term success and off-leash freedom. This program goes far beyond surface-level obedience, offering in-depth education to ensure you're fully equipped to lead your dog with clarity and confidence. Our handler training includes key topics such as operant conditioning, training philosophy, method selection, leash skills, reward timing and ratios, correction techniques, and canine body language—so you can read and respond to your dog in real time.

Training

This course is not a casual endeavor—it’s a structured investment in lasting change. Repetition and consistency are essential for building reliable behavior, which is why the program spans approximately three and a half months. This timeline gives you the flexibility to train at a steady pace without rushing the process.

Throughout the course, we’ll develop a personalized training schedule, teach your dog a consistent communication system, and build foundational skills including leash work and timing. Core obedience commands covered include: Sit, Down, Stay, Heel, Place, and Recall, as well as Off Leash Foundation—each taught with precision to ensure real-world reliability.

Maintenance

Every course includes guidance on how to properly maintain your dog’s progress over time. Because no two dogs are the same, we tailor maintenance strategies to suit your dog’s unique personality, drive, and behavioral tendencies. This ensures the training doesn’t just work today—but continues to work long into the future.
