Behavioral Issues
Anxiety and Fear
Dogs that have a noticeable level of anxiety or fear can be challenging for many owners. Separation anxiety is one example that many owners find themselves struggling to fix. General fear of new people or environments can also begin causing issues, especially if left untreated.
Reactive Dogs
When fear and anxiety begin to escalate, we can see dogs become reactive. Our view of reactivity is that this is a dog who does not know how to interact in social situations properly. These dogs may often appear aggressive, but are often very sweet when they are back in a comfortable environment.
Aggressive Dogs
Aggression can take many forms, including fear aggression, possessive aggression, learned aggression, and dominance aggression. Each type is unique and requires specific training to truly correct. It is not a one-size-fits-all style of training.
Behavior Consultation
A Humble Urgency
When we are asked to help families deal with a variety of behavior problems, we take it extremely seriously from day one. When a family puts their trust in us, we know the stakes, and we are honored to help. These issues are not to be taken lightly, as they affect not just the family but also the dog if we fail to find real solutions quickly.
No Rush, Comprehensive Support
The Behavior Consultation we offer takes place at home, so we can see the dog in their environment and avoid the hassle for a family transporting a dog with behavior issues to an unfamiliar environment. This consultation lasts up to 3 hours to ensure we are not rushing either the owners or the dogs.
Cost and Scheduling
A three-hour in-home behavior consultation costs $175, including up to two hours of travel time. To ensure we are giving you the best consultation possible, we first schedule a 30-minute to 1-hour phone call to discuss your specific issues, the dogs, schedules, goals, etc., in order to tailor your consultation as much as possible.
