The Essentials Course!

Not the average beginner-level obedience program!

Basic obedience should never be reduced to a handful of party tricks. This course was built on the principle that both dogs and their owners deserve more. We don’t compromise on training standards or handler development, because true progress takes more than a few rushed sessions.

A Good Dog Deserves A Good Handler!

We believe in holding our owners to a higher standard—not by making things harder, but by refusing to water them down. Your dog is already working hard to figure out what you want. The least we can do is meet them halfway. That means teaching you how to handle your dog clearly, fairly, and confidently.

Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge and tools needed to become self-reliant and the kind of handler your dog deserves.

Course Material

Handler Education

This course provides a fantastic opportunity for handler development, focusing on on-leash skills and reliability. Our handler training includes key topics such as operant conditioning, training philosophy, method selection, leash skills, reward timing and ratios, proofing techniques, and basic canine language, including socialization, so you can read and respond to your dog in real time.

Training

The Essentials Course is designed for dogs living in apartments, condos, townhomes, and suburban neighborhoods, where solid on-leash behavior is critical. This program emphasizes control, neutrality, and consistency in everyday environments.

This course spans approximately two months and has bi-weekly lessons. It gives handlers the time and space to absorb key concepts and implement training goals at a steady, manageable pace.

Core obedience skills covered include Down, Stay, Heel, and Recall—all taught on-leash to build a dependable foundation for real-world situations.

Maintenance

Every course includes guidance on how to properly maintain your dog’s progress over time. Because no two dogs are the same, we tailor maintenance strategies to suit your dog’s unique personality, drive, and behavioral tendencies. This ensures the training doesn’t just work today, but continues to work long into the future.
